I am so sorry for your loss, my deepest condolences to you and your family. I understand that losing a family member is beyond terrible and I can understand what you are going through. Hopefully this will help guide your healing process.

Coping with the loss of a loved one in the family is an unexplainable pain and one of life’s biggest challenges. You may be experiencing many different emotions ranging from shock, anger, disbelief, guilt, or sadness. Everyone deals with grief differently; it is completely normal to be feeling the way you are during this difficult time.

Allow your emotions to be expressed and released. Don’t hold yourself back when you feel the need to cry or if doing certain activities makes your heartache because it reminds you of your loved one. Acknowledging and accepting your pain is crucial during this healing process. A few ways to express your thoughts and emotions could be to start writing in a journal about how you’re feeling, the memories you share with your loved one, or even a short song/poem as a tribute. It’s alright if it may also be difficult for you to complete everyday tasks, as it is important you take care of yourself right now. Try to go for a short walk and enjoy the outdoors, take a warm bath/shower, and stay in touch with your friends and family.

Dealing with the loss of a loved one in the family is never easy. Hopefully, soon you will find yourself moving on and being happy, with the thoughts and memories of your loved one always having a special place in your heart.
